The final conference of the project "Development of the regional tourist offer of Šumadija and Pomoravlje"

On the occasion of the completion of the project "Development of the regional tourism offer of Šumadija and Pomoravlje", on October 3, 2023, the final conference was held in Hotel Kragujevac with the broad participation of collaborators and partners involved in the implementation of the project, as well as external experts and media representatives. In addition to local self-governments and local tourism organizations of Šumadija and Pomoravlje, there were also collaborators from the education and culture sectors, as well as representatives of the private sector who are interested in cooperation with the public and civil sectors in the field of tourism development. Direct participation was also taken by representatives of the donor, the organization GIZ, which implements the program "#EUzaTebe - for cultural heritage and tourism" and which have been supporting to the regional agency in the implementation of the project activities.

At the conference, the realized activities and achieved results of the project were presented. A special review was given to the presentation of the Sustainable Tourism Criteria in the light of Serbia's accession to the membership of the Sustainable Tourism Global Council.

During the discussion, opinions on the main challenges in the field of tourism were expressed by tourist organizations, tourism and catering vocational school TUŠ Toza Dragović, Kragujevac, as well as by one of the leading businessmen in the hotel and catering industry in the region, Hotel Izvor, Aranđelovac. All attendants expressed interest to establish partnership relations in further work to overcome the challenges and work together for development of tourism in the region.

These activities are implemented within the project "Development of the regional tourist offer of Šumadija and Pomoravlje", which is implemented within the broader project "#EUforYou - for cultural heritage and tourism". The project is financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and is implemented by the German Organization for International Cooperation - GIZ.
