Regional meetings of the Destination Management Organization for Šumadija and Pomoravlje
In order to establish the management and operational structure of the Destination Management Organization of Šumadija and Pomoravlje (hereinafter: DMO) and to develop a DMO marketing plan, three meetings were held with representatives of local tourist organizations and the regional development agency, i.e. permanent membership of DMO.
At the first meeting, on May 5, 2023, the draft of the Rules of Procedure of the DMO management team was presented, while in the coming months the document will be finalized and the management structure of the DMO will be defined. In addition, presented were the results of a survey conducted for representatives of tourist organizations and DMO, in the process of developing the DMO marketing strategy.
At the second meeting, on September 20, 2023, the criteria of the Global Council for Sustainable Tourism and indicators for measuring sustainability were presented. It was agreed how the continuous monitoring of sustainable tourism indicators will be incorporated into the operations and operational structure of the DMO.
At the third meeting, on October 3, 2023, the experts who worked on the drafting of the documents presented the final marketing strategy of the DMO and the Rules of Procedure of the DMO management team. At the meeting, agreement was reached about the documents and the next steps of DMO work.
These activities are implemented within the project "Development of the regional tourist offer of Šumadija and Pomoravlje", which is implemented within the broader project "#EUforYou - for cultural heritage and tourism". The project is financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and is implemented by the German Organization for International Cooperation - GIZ.
