INSiGHTS - THE THIRD WORKSHOP OF THE REGIONAL STAKEHOLDERS
The objectives of the WS were to provide more in depth information related to 4 target micro-territories designated for establishment of SGHT centers, namely:
- Existing trails and locations of sport and recreational activities (including current state, marketing, service providers, etc.)
- State of environment at the trails and locations of sport and recreational activities (including level of pollution, key polluters, etc.)
- Proposals on possible integrated activities and projects of sensitization of local population and visitors (awareness raising, information and promotion activities), related to: a. benefits of recreation and time spent in nature, b. need for preservation of environment
- Proposals on key projects aiming at enhancing tourism offer and sustainable management of natural resources
The participants were 11 representatives of sports and recreation CSOs from Sumadija and Pomoravlje.
The participants were shortly presented with objectives of the pilot action and specifically, achieved results and current activities related to elaboration of the Pilot-action plan. The WS was delivered in interactive manner, allowing participants to freely provide comments and engage during the whole duration of the WS.
Through guided discussions, they have provided numerous information on existing and currently in development hiking, biking and riding trails, as well as more specific information on several trails they consider to be most attractive, significant and accessible to various visitors, in writing in pre-prepared Worksheets. One of the topics discussed was also related to possible ways of increasing the number of people engaging in different outdoor activities, in a particular different programs and activities for children that might be delivered in cooperation with kindergartens and schools, as well as motivating the whole families to spend more time in nature.
Participants have also provided their feedback related to the state of the environment in respective pilot micro-territories, stressing the most significant polluters to be local population and proposing various measures for their awareness raising.
Workshop was concluded with several ideas focusing on the need for integration of different information, enhancing networking among relevant actors and better promotion of the Region`s outdoor activity offer.
