Initial workshop of the project «Development of the Action Plan for Improvement of the Equitable Access to Water and Sanitation in the region of Sumadija and Pomoravlje”

The Regional Economic Development Agency for Sumadija and Pomoravlje, with the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia, on August 15, 2018, organized the Initial workshop of the project "Development of the Action Plan for Improvement of the Equitable Access to Water and Sanitation in the region of Sumadija and Pomoravlje".

The purpose of organizing the first workshop is to present the project, goals, methodology that will be used during the project implementation.

The initial workshop was opened by Jasminka Luković Jagličić, representative of the Regional Economic Development Agency for Sumadija and Pomoravlje, and welcomed the participants. Biljana Filipović, Assistant Minister for International Cooperation and European Integration in Environmental Protection of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Vesna Knjeginjić, Chairwoman of the Protocol on Water and Health, Ljiljana Jovanović, President of the Joint Body, and Diane Guerrier, representative of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

In the plenary section of the workshop, Jasminka Luković Jagličić held the presentation "The Self-Assessment of Equal Access to Water and Sanitation - Republic of Serbia (Sumadija and Pomoravlje), results of the first phase, and recommendations". Subsequently, the presentation "Guidance on the development of action plans to ensure equitable access to water and sanitation and other countries' experiences in improving a fair approach" was held by Diane Guerrier. The experience of the Republic of Macedonia was presented by Nataša Dokovska, presentation of "Experiences in the development of the Action Plan".

After the plenary part, the working part came. At the beginning, Jasminka Luković Jagličić held a presentation "Making an Action Plan for Improving Equal Access to Water and Sanitation".

In the workshop part, the participants were divided into four thematic groups, where, with the help of thematic experts, the groups of relevant stakeholders were defined for all of the sections, as well as the priorities.
