Gastro events – tradition in modern way
Serbia as a gastronomic destination attracts an increasing number of guests. Gastro tourism is learning about and experiencing a destination through its traditional gastronomy as a part of cultural identity - gastroheritology. It is an experience through the presentation of traditional dishes and drinks, discovering the identity of the people, through their cultural and historical heritage, as well as the way of life and mentality.
As a part of the project that supports the development of the regional tourist offer of Šumadija and Pomoravlje, three gastronomic events were organized, presenting the cuisine of this region. These gasto events took place in Vinsko rakija hub in Kragujevac.

- Gastro evening "Terra Serbica" - Crossroads, on September 29 and
- Kragujevac Open kitchen – special offer of five Kragujevac restaurants, on September 30
In the organization of the Regional Economic Development Agency for Šumadija and Pomoravlje and Horeca Association Kragujevac, on Saturday 30.09.2023 five Kragujevac restaurants offered selected dishes of modern Šumadija cuisine at attractive prices. Aromatic herbs, local lamb, pork, beef, cheeses, salads, stews in the interpretation of Kragujevac chefs who talk about their city and homeland through the flavors, along with selected premium wines and the best rakija brandies additionally motivated the citizens to enjoy the charms of our tradition in modern way. The following Kragujevac restaurants had this offer: Ambasador, Vinsko rakijski hub, Gastro komitet 24, Mustang and Panorama.
The project "Development of the regional tourist offer of Šumadija and Pomerania" is implemented by the Regional Economic Development Agency for Šumadija and Pomerania within the program "EU for you - cultural heritage and tourism", financed by the EU and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation, and implemented by the German Organization for International Cooperation - GIZ.
