As part of the “Šumadija CONNECT: Šumadija CONNECT: Fostering territorial development through innovation and cultural heritage valorisation” project, an educational workshop was successfully held on 14 May 2026 at the “Knez Aleksandar Karađorđević” Secondary School in Kragujevac.

The workshop brought together students from the Culture, Art and Public Information programme, with the aim of highlighting, through an interactive approach, the importance of cultural heritage in the development of creative industries and their role in empowering and creating employment opportunities, particularly for women and vulnerable social groups.

Participants had the opportunity to discuss the history and cultural heritage of Šumadija and Kragujevac, the links between culture and tourism, the importance of networking and cooperation in supporting vulnerable groups, as well as contemporary approaches to preserving and valorising cultural and historical heritage through creative industries and handicrafts.

The workshop was delivered by the CSO “Putokaz Kragujevac”, a project partner, in cooperation with the Regional Economic Development Agency for Šumadija and Pomoravlje.
