The partnership on the realization of the project "Get to know human rights for better future" established
At the meeting held by the CIVIS Association, The Centre for training of employees in Kragujevac, and the Regional Economic Development Agency of Šumadija and Pomoravlje,the training workshop under the name of ``Get to know human rights for better future``, the overall aim of which is raising awareness of elementary school students concerning the importance of human rights in everyday life in order to independently find the adequate ways to react to the challenges which they face with.
The project is financed by the Swiss embasy in Belgrade, and the Council of Europe donated the material for the pupils` work. The bearer of the project is the Association of the NGOS of the South East Europe - CIVIS.
During 2012 CIVIS realized this pilot project on the territory of Vojvodina. The students from 6 cities took part, and thanks to outstanding results which the project had, it was also carried out in 2013, and expanded to the territory of central Serbia, i.e. the city of Kragujevac and the municipalities of Aranđelovac, Rača, Paraćin i Jagodina.
The project has been conducted in the cooperation with elementary schools. The workshops were dedicated to the 7th and 8th graders with the aim to improve their knowlegde about the universal human rights and tolerance as the basic pre-conditions of the humane life in a community; and the teachers who can go on to realize such workshops in their classes using similar methodlology.
The Offices for the young people from the territory of the project have been included in the realization of the project. The purpose of their engagement is getting to know such type of informal education and the promotion of the activities in order to include new generations in their future work .
