RurALL partners’ meeting in Beltinci, Slovenia
A meeting of partners and experts
on the RurALL project was held in Beltinci, Slovenia, from May 27 to 29, 2024. The
Municipality of Beltinci is the lead partner in the RurALL project, which deals
with the problem of depopulation of rural areas and how potential of abandoned
and/or deteriorating buildings can be used. The consortium includes 14 partners
and 7 associate partners from 11 countries of the Danube region, and this,
along with the work part, was the first live meeting. Representatives of the
Regional Economic Development Agency for Šumadija and Pomoravlje and of
Despotovac municipality as an associated partner attended the meetings and
workshops.
Apart from the Kock-off meeting, on
28 and 29 May four thematic workshops were held for exchange of knowledge and
experience within the central themes of the project: 1) Starting to work
together as a team – Transnational network, 2) Transnational cooperation in developing the governance model, 3) Community
engagement in rural communities and 4) Introduction in the mapping activity.
Besides, a panel discussion was held with the topic New European Bauhaus in
rural communities. This approach will be applied throughout the project
implementation to ensure community involvement, environmental protection and
aesthetics in architecture to make the communities more attractive for living.
