KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE DAY – Use of Policy scenario Model in the process of regional and local strategic planning
On 2 September 2014, Regional Economic Development Agency for Sumadija and Pomoravlje organized a Knowledge exchange day in domain of migration and demographic change management within the process of strategic planning. The main topic was “The use of policy scenario model in the processes of local and regional strategic planning” and the ultimate goal of the event was to contribute to improvement of the process and awareness building about the innovative approach at all levels of sustainable development planning.
There were about 30 attendants, representatives of local self-governments of Sumadija and Pomoravlje, institutions, organisations and other key actors in sustainable development planning and sector policies.
Presented were population projections for Sumadija and Pomoravlje region that were developed within the project by the Statistical office of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the document that analyses possible scenarios of development of Sumadija and Pomoravlje, and represents an innovative tool in the process of strategic planning.
Partners from the Salzburg University of Applied Science presented their methodology and experience in domain of policy scenario constructing for the city of Vienna, as well as activities and cooperation with Vienna department of urban planning.
Also conducted were panel discussions on the themes that focus on the key prerequisites and challenges in the process of strategic planning, and involvement of key stakeholders in both policy scenario and strategic planning.
