INSiGHTS - organized the first regional workshop of the participants in the field of tourism development
Within the project INSiGHTS - "Integrated Slow, Green and Healthy Tourism Strategies", a workshop was organized for representatives of institutions and organizations that are key for the development of tourism and which can directly contribute to the development of the concept of "slow, healthy and green" tourism on the territory of the Sumadija And Pomoravlje region.
The aim of the workshop, which was held on May 25, 2017 at the village household "Eco Farm" of the Milanovic family in the village of Lipovica, Despotovac municipality, was an analysis of the current situation and potential, as well as defining the directions for developing the concept of healthy, slow and green tourism in the territory of Sumadija and Pomoravlje by areas:
- Strategy, cooperation and governance structure
- Environment and natural resources
- Socio-economic benefits and regional development
- Cultural heritage and social influence
- Satisfaction of tourists and development of tourism products
In addition to the representatives of local self-governments and tourist organizations, the workshop was attended by the representatives of the association: Mountain biking club "Ciker" from Kraljevo, mountain speleological club "Resava" from Despotovac, association "Staro brdo" from Lapovo, association "Petrus" from the village of Zabrega near Paracin municipality. Also, the workshops were attended by representatives of the Tourist Organization of Serbia and the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments Kragujevac.
Following the presentation of the INSiGHTS project and the concept of slow, green and healthy tourism, experiences were presented by the household "Eco farm" Milanovic from Lipovica, mountain biking club "Ciker" from Kraljevo and association "Petrus" from Zabrega.
The workshop is one of the activities within the project "Integrated Slow, Green and Healthy Tourism Strategies" – INSiGHTS, implemented by the Regional Economic Development Agency for Sumadija and Pomoravlje, within Interreg Danube Transnational Programme. The purpose of the project is to encourage the sustainable use of the natural and cultural heritage of the involved areas in the Danube Region in order to preserve and enhance the local resources and extraordinary potentials of these areas as attractive destinations for the development of a healthy, slow and responsible green tourism.
