Strengthening the competitiveness of wine producers from Šumadija - IMPULS Wine

    The overall objective is:
    Contribution to the development of the territorial identity of the Šumadija region by providing support to the wine production sector.

    • - Increasing the competitiveness of wine producers in the Šumadija wine region through the construction of technical and human capacities and institutional support

Development of an Action plan for ensuring equal access to water and sanitation in the region of Šumadija and Pomoravlje (Serbia)

  • Location: Šumadija and Pomoravlje districts
  • Goal:
    • - To define priority measures to address the identified shortcomings of equal access to water and sanitation
    • - To identify the possibilities of including these measures in existing plans and projects, taking into account the current context of national policy.

  • Results:
    The main result of the project is the Action Plan for ensuring equal access to water and sanitation in the region of Šumadija and Pomoravlje.

    The project was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia, and funded by the UN Economic Commission for Europe.

Improving the economic and social position of women in rural areas of Šumadija and Kolubara districts

  • Location: Šumadija and Kolubara districts
  • Goal:
    Contribute to the improvement of the economic and social position of women in rural areas from the territory of Šumadija and Kolubara districts.

    Specific objective:

    Development of a model of support for economic and social empowerment of women who are already engaged in activities: provision of rural tourism services, production of domestic food products and production of old crafts.

  • Results:
    R1. Improved web portal selo.rs and developed Android and IOS mobile application with selected households (in which the bearers of economic activities are women, who are already in the business of providing accommodation services in rural tourism or production of domestic food and old crafts), with fully updated pages and profiles ready for promotion to customers.

    R2. Women who provide accommodation or produce home-made food and old craft products are familiar with current trends and are trained in business management.

    R3. Households that produce domestic food and handicrafts produce larger quantities of products in a shorter period and with less effort, and which are of better quality and, in their appearance, more suitable for the current market demands.

    R4. Created a mechanism to influence policies at the local level, which relate to improving the social and economic position of women in rural areas.

    R5. Supported households are intensively promoted on the Internet and social networks and generate higher incomes through an increased number of accommodations and products sold to a larger number of customers who reach them either through the selo.rs portal and mobile applications, or through other similar existing portals.

The Šumadija Plum

  • Location: Šumadija district
  • Goal:
    The overall objective is:
    Contribution to the development of the territorial identity of the Šumadija region by providing support to the fruit growing sector.

    The specific objectives are:
    • - Improving the competitiveness of plum producers and processors through the improvement of technological, technical and human capacities and the development of production of value-added products in the Sumadija region.
    • - Improving the visibility and market positioning of plums as a regional typical product, through the integration and development of the supply chain, diversification of economic activities, promotional and marketing campaigns.

  • Results:
    • 1. Regional system for prognosis and protection of fruit (plum) from diseases established, compatible and networked with the national system
    • 2. Improved knowledge of plum growers, fruit growers 'associations and distilleries' associations
    • 3. Improved production of plums and soft brandies (distillates) producers who cooperate with registered distilleries, increased capacity of 7 associations of fruit producers and the association "Sumadija brandy"
    • 4. Two young brandy producers have fully equipped distilleries with at least three registered labels on the market and with sufficient sales volume for future operations. Improving production for 4 distilleries through modernization of production processes and equipment
    • 5. Study for protection of geographical origin "Šumadijska šljivovica" prepared
    • 6. Increased visibility of members of the association "Šumadijska rakija" and increased sales of plum brandy
    • 7. Developed and adopted a common recipe and technology for the production of "Šumadija plum brandy"
    • 8. New tourist product "Brandy tourist tour" established
    • 9. Better positioning of all distilleries of the members of the association on the market of Kragujevac and Belgrade through the distribution, promotion and sale of products at joint points of sale in the two cities.
    • 10. Enabled exchange of knowledge through the establishment of cooperation with distilleries from one of the EU countries, characterized by the production of brandy and its incorporation into the tourist offer of the country.

To carry out a baseline analysis of the situation of equitable access to water and sanitation in the region of Sumadija and Pomoravlje, Serbia

  • Location: Šumadija and Pomoravlje districts
  • Goal:
    The goals of the project are:

    · Achieving a better understanding of the situation and the challenge of equal access to water and sanitation

    · Identifying relevant stakeholders to contribute to improving equal access to water and sanitation and raising awareness of equal access

    Develop a comprehensive review of existing policy measures to address inequalities in access to water and sanitation and identify information and gaps in policy to ensure equal access to water and sanitation.

  • REDASP Role: The project "Self-assessment of equal access to water and sanitation in Serbia" is implemented within the Protocol on Water and Health, which the Republic of Serbia joined on April 16, 2013 and contributes to the implementation of the Protocol by identifying the current situation in the Republic of Serbia. water and sanitation. Within the project, research will be conducted on the territory of Šumadija and Pomoravlje, with the participation of a large number of organizations responsible for water and sanitation issues at the local, regional and national levels.

Energy efficiency in public buildings in Serbia

    Improving energy efficiency in buildings in the Republic of Serbia is in line with the energy policy, as well as the policy of sustainable development, which is recognized as a key national priority in the strategy of sustainable development of the Republic of Serbia.

  • Results:
    The project "Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings in Serbia" involves collecting data on energy performance in the public sector, which includes buildings at the central level of the state, at the level of the autonomous province, as well as buildings in local self-government units.
    This research project will, above all, contribute to the realization of national goals in the development of the National Typology of Schools and Kindergartens with proposals for improving the energy performance of buildings and assessing possible energy savings.

    The project is implemented by the German Organization for International Cooperation GIZ.

Mechanisms to support the introduction of Innovations in production and access to the market of wine producers in the Šumadija wine region - METRIS wine

    The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the development of the economy in the territory of Central Serbia through the development of mechanisms to support entrepreneurship and the introduction of innovations in production and market access.

    The specific objectives are:

    - Development of new business services in the field of winemaking and viticulture in the Sumadija region based on the real needs of micro, small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs in the sector
    - Development of the Association of Wine Producers, with special emphasis on the development of a joint product
    - Development of business capacities of micro, small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs and creation of employment opportunities within the logistics chain of wine producers in the territory of the Šumadija region
    - Stimulating business associations on the territory of Šumadija and creating value chains in order to increase the degree of finalization of products.

Integrative model of development of creative industries on the territory of Šumadija and Pomoravlje

  • Location: Šumadija and Pomoravlje districts
  • Goal:
    General goal - improvement of business infrastructure and development of mechanisms to support SMEs and contribution to reducing unemployment in the region of Šumadija and Pomoravlje.

    Specific objective 1 - Increase the capacity of the Business Incubator (PI) and improve the service for experimentation and innovation of students through access to an adequate mix of business skills, software, equipment and funding sources.

    Specific objective 2 - Creating conditions for integration of creative industries into development strategies by establishing mechanisms for networking and development of partnerships between public, private and non-governmental sector, and providing support services to innovative SMEs, in order to improve the capacity of Sumadija and Pomoravlje found in the diversity of creative expression.

    Specific objective 3 - Development of mechanisms for the creation of start-up companies through the introduction of an innovative software platform for the development and improvement of the business incubator.

Situation analysis of access to healthy drinking water and sanitation for children in primary schools in rural areas of the Sumadija and Pomoravlje Districts

  • Location: Sumadija and Pomoravlje
  • Goal:


    The proposed project has the following two concurrent targeted objectives:

    1. to perform a situation analysis (gap analysis) of access to healthy drinking water and sanitation of children in primary schools, as well as, sanitary surveillance of the facilities, in rural areas of the Sumadija and Pomoravlje Districts in Serbia, with investment preliminary evaluation
    2.  to provide institutional capacity building for health safety of drinking water and sanitation in schools, by involving in its development selected representatives of the local concerned institutions and stakeholders.

    The objectives will be pursued by developing a pilot methodology, by selecting a representative sample of primary schools in rural areas on the territory, in order to allow the replicability and dissemination of the project to the whole Region and other areas of the Country, in order to secure the sustainability of the project.
