Electric, Electronic and Green Urban Transport Systems - eGUTS

  • Location: Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Serbia
  • Goal:

Project eGUTS strives to exploit potentials of e-mobility in 7 Danube cities, regions and beyond. To do so, the existing network of 15 partners will develop innovative eGUTS Standards for cities supporting e-mobility, based on combined Feasibility Studies will elaborate and realize Local Action Plans for deploying them, develop and test the eGUTS APP smat tool, implement various Pilot Actions in the fields of road preference and parking policies, charging stations, rental spots, and more. Last but not least, consortium will actively intensify cooperation, exchange of experience and transfer of know-how among relevant actors both on transnational (via Expert Panel) and on regional/national level (via RSP meetings) with strong focus on user needs (local citizens and tourists). As result, an improved and coordinated application of Danube eMOB Strategy is expected not only in participating regions but, with wider exploitation of results, in whole Danube area and further in entire Europe.

eGUTS main goal is to pave the way toward Danube eMOB Strategy (DeMS) to overcome regional challenges for sustainable regional and local mobility by implementing e-transport systems (electro-mobility combined with IT solutions) by 6 Pilot Actions which exploit the potentials of e-mobility in Danube cities and regions. This leads to life quality improvement by better connectivity of rural areas affected by demographic changes to the urban ones, offering better-connected and interoperable e-transport systems and decrease the actual current petrol-driven car-dominance in local transportation, realising substantial energy savings and CO2 reduction.

The eGUTS innovative approach is to prepare, systematically and not only on “case-to-case commitment” the ground for establishing e-mobility as one of the important means of transport combined with e-solutions which bring innovations to the transport systems and attract low emissions smart public transport systems for inhabitants and tourists.
